Flamingo Crossing Village Bus Directory:

For my first co-op, I was employed at the Walt Disney World Company and lived at Flamingo Crossing Village (their partner complex) with hundreds of other cast members. The main way of transportation for cast members, including myself, was the buses on property. While living and working as a cast member at Flamingo Crossings Village, I experienced firsthand how confusing and inconsistent the bus system can be for employees commuting to and from work. With multiple routes, overlapping destinations, and poor signage at bus stops, it was often difficult to know which route to take.

Who → Disney cast members

Where → outside apartment complex

What → destination and time

When → all hours of the day

Why → getting to and from work on time

Research:

Current signage at the bus stop outside of Flamingo Crossing Village East. As well as an app that is paired with the buses. I wanted to keep the colors the same in my design and they are already associated with a specific route.

Digital Iterations:

Building off of my physical directions, I played around with them digitally. These are my first digital ideations.

Refinements:

I decided to make 2 screens to help users navigate what they needed in the most efficient way. The first screen helps users quickly find their destination and identify the correct bus through an alphabetical list and color-coded route markers. The second screen then shows each route with all of the stops. This allows users to understand how the bus gets to their destination and how many stops remain.
